How long do I have an assigned international student?
You as a Community Friend will have one or more student(s) for one year or one semester (Fall – September through December; Spring – February through May). MFIP asks Community Friends to spend time with their students at least once a month.
When do I get assigned with an international student?
A Community Friend will be assigned with a student at the beginning of the semester (Fall - early September; Spring- early February).
How does MIFP communicate with me?
MIFP primarily communicates with Community Friends via email. Email contains notices and upcoming events. Please choose “accept” email from MIFP in order to receive the newsletter. MIFP also has a Facebook group page if you have your own Facebook account.
My international student is asking for help with financial, academic, immigration, and his/her personal problems. What do I need to do?
My international student has a medical problem. What do I need to do?
Please have the student to seek medical assistance from the University of Montana’s Curry Health Center or a local hospital.
