Community Friends Frequently Asked Questions

You as a Community Friend will have one or more student(s) for one year or one semester (Fall – September through December; Spring – February through May). MFIP asks Community Friends to spend time with their students at least once a month.   

A Community Friend will be assigned with a student at the beginning of the semester (Fall - early September; Spring- early February).

MIFP primarily communicates with Community Friends via email. Email contains notices and upcoming events. Please choose “accept” email from MIFP in order to receive the newsletter. MIFP also has a Facebook group page if you have your own Facebook account.

Please refer the student to the office of International Students and Scholars.

Please have the student to seek medical assistance from the University of Montana’s Curry Health Center or a local hospital.
