The Missoula International Friendship Program (MIFP) is a nonprofit organization, founded in 1980's by a small group of Missoula citizens who were committed to global education and international friendships. MIFP pairs University of Montana's international students with local residents, called COMMUNITY FRIENDS, to promote friendship and culture exchange.
In conjunction with the office of UM International Students and Scholars, MIFP pairs Community Friends and international students at the beginning of the semester. MIFP does not require home-stays. Community Friends and students are expected to enjoy occasional getting-together activities throughout the semester.
